Frequently Asked Questions

Please visit our list of classes, found here. Look for a class with HYROX in the name. For example, HYROX strength & conditioning. You may sign up by selecting your preferred class and completing the sign-up for that particular class.

With HYROX, you always do the same set of workouts in the same, predictable order each time mixed with a running challenge. In CrossFit, the exercises vary as do the workouts and movements. This means the fitness requirements can vary in CrossFit versus HYROX, which is more fixed.

HYROX is a race more so than a traditional workout. The training is in preparation for competitions where you push your limits against yourself and others. You can certainly replace your workouts with HYROX, though.

HYROX is intended for even a novice who knows nothing about the sport and may have just started training. With that being said, there are different divisions meant for different skill levels, so your level of fitness pits you against others on a similar playing field.

This can vary, but even for those who have high fitness levels, it may take several months. Specialty training, like at Evolution Long Island, can not only help you prepare faster but help avoid injury and achieve better training results.

HYROX competitions have a wider range of skill levels and a consistent format, which means it’s easy to measure your results against other people. The exercises are also creative, fun, and rewarding to master.

HYROX is great because you can do some exercises and routines at home outside of the regular gym setting. Of course, the gym is the best place to train in correlation to preparing for the events.
