What’s in a Boxing Workout?

Boxing is a fun sport (unless you’re getting hit!) Luckily, you’re the one throwing all the punches at Evolution Long Island. You’ll start by wrapping hands, getting in some cardio, doing some station work, then hitting the bags. However, unlike boxing-only gyms, Evolution gives you access to a full-scale fitness center PLUS the boxing workouts. And we’re not just a big boxing class either that will throw you head first into the deep end. You will work with a REAL boxing coach and learn real boxing techniques, honing your skill and pushing your mind and body, gradually improving and growing at your own pace. Each class, you can even get one-on-one time with Coach as you work on your boxing punches and agility.

How Do Our Boxing Classes Work?

Our boxing classes happen regularly. To get started, you can head to our Fitness Portal, find any Boxing class, and get signed up!

It’s never too late to start boxing! Meanwhile our youngest boxers are older teens. The best time to start boxing is NOW!

Boxing is an engaging work, both mentally and physically. It’s perfect for setting your own pace and punching the bag at your own speed and power. If you get bored during other workouts or classes, we challenge you to try boxing at least once!

Our class is not intended to be used for self defense, but for fitness. You may pick up some fundamentals in our classes that you can then use if you take any other self-defense classes.

Definitely not! Your only challenger is the bag – and we promise you can’t hurt it! Our boxing sessions are done in a bootcamp style, so you’ll be focused on cardio, movement, and throwing punches against your bag during the workout.

Yes. Our boxing is in a class style, with individual attention available before, during, and even after the session to help you improve your form and technique.
